Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and facilities to ensure efficient operations. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and implementing improvements for optimized productivity and safety in our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Preventive Maintenance:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, machinery, and building systems to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Document maintenance activities in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  1. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly and conduct repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and implement corrective measures.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment to assess and resolve issues.
  1. Equipment Installation and Setup:
  • Assist in the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure new equipment is integrated smoothly into the production line.
  • Ensure equipment and systems are calibrated and aligned with production requirements.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to company safety standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure that all work areas are clean, organized, and comply with safety regulations.
  1. Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for improving equipment performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team and production personnel to implement process improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance best practices and standard operating procedures.
  1. Recordkeeping and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
  • Report recurring issues and recommend solutions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Provide feedback and insights on equipment condition and future maintenance needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and compliance standards in an industrial setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions, including temperature changes and exposure to dust and noise.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in maintenance-related fields (e.g., HVAC, electrical, welding).
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
