Job Title: Tool & Die Maker
Department: Tool & Die
Reports To: Die Room Manager

Job Summary:
The Tool & Die Maker analyzes specifications, sets up and operates machine tools, and fabricates or repairs metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and hand tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study blueprints and sketches to determine materials for parts.

  • Plan layouts and sequences of operations.

  • Measure, mark, and machine metal stock.

  • Set up and operate machines, ensuring parts meet specifications.

  • Inspect and adjust parts for precision, alignment, and function.

  • Heat treat tools, fit, assemble, and polish parts.

  • Recommend modifications to tool designs.

  • Follow ISO9001 procedures, maintain a clean work area, and adhere to safety rules.

  • Perform routine inspections of machined parts.

  • Consult with supervisors and team members for problem-solving.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year certificate or 5 years related experience/training.

  • Ability to read technical documents and apply geometric and trigonometric concepts.

  • Strong problem-solving and practical skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Regular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting over 100 lbs.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands frequently.

  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise.

  • Occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles.
