job Title: Audio Video Service Technician $30-32 per hour - Full Benefits, 401, PTO, Training Job Summary: An Audio Video (AV) Service Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of audio and video equipment in both residential and commercial settings. They ensure the proper functionality of AV systems, including audio systems, video displays, projectors, cameras, and related technologies. The technician is also tasked with ensuring high-quality service, customer satisfaction, and timely resolutions of AV-related issues. Key Responsibilities: 1. Installation & Setup: o Install and configure AV equipment, including sound systems, projectors, video walls, television systems, and other multimedia devices. o Ensure the proper wiring, connections, and placement of equipment to optimize performance. o Perform system calibration for audio and video devices to ensure optimal functionality. 2. Troubleshooting & Repair: o Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to AV systems and equipment, including faulty wiring, software malfunctions, and hardware failures. o Repair or replace defective equipment and components in accordance with manufacturer specifications. o Provide on-site technical support for urgent or complex AV problems. 3. Maintenance & Upgrades: o Perform routine maintenance checks on AV systems to ensure continued performance and longevity. o Recommend and implement upgrades to improve system performance, enhance user experience, or comply with new standards or technologies. 4. Customer Service & Support: o Provide excellent customer service, including clear communication regarding system issues and solutions. o Educate customers on the use and maintenance of their AV systems. o Respond promptly to customer inquiries, offering on-site support or remote troubleshooting when necessary. 5. Documentation & Reporting: o Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, installations, and customer interactions. o Provide regular updates to management regarding ongoing service projects, issues, and equipment performance. o Prepare and submit service reports, including recommendations for equipment replacement or upgrades. 6. Compliance & Safety: o Adhere to safety standards and procedures while working with electrical and AV equipment. o Ensure that all installations and services are compliant with local laws, industry standards, and manufacturer guidelines. Skills and Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree or certification in AV technology is a plus). · Proven experience in AV system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. · Proficiency in audio and video systems, including projectors, audio mixers, microphones, cameras, and video conferencing equipment. · Ability to use diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting AV issues. · Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Good communication and interpersonal skills. · Knowledge of wiring systems and signal distribution methods (HDMI, VGA, etc.). · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to client locations. Working Conditions: · Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on client needs. · Work may be performed on-site in residential, commercial, or corporate environments. · Exposure to AV equipment, tools, and sometimes complex or tight spaces during installations and repairs. Physical Requirements: · Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). · Ability to work on ladders or scaffolding for installations and repairs.
