The Durable Medical Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of medical equipment used in patient care. This position involves working closely with healthcare providers and patients to deliver, set up, and repair durable medical equipment (DME). The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. Duties Deliver and set up durable medical equipment at patient locations, ensuring proper functionality and safety. Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards. Troubleshoot and repair DME using hand tools and computer hardware as necessary. Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking equipment status and maintenance schedules. Interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing issues with medical devices. Collaborate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for technical support and parts procurement. Maintain accurate records of service activities, repairs, and inventory management. Provide training to patients and caregivers on the proper use of medical equipment. Requirements Medical Billing is a plus - looking for a Leader Proven experience in field service or maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME). Proficiency in using hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks. Familiarity with computer hardware for troubleshooting purposes. Ability to calibrate medical devices according to manufacturer specifications. Strong understanding of schematics related to medical equipment operation and repair. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
