Dispatcher

Miller Staffing has a great opportunity for a dispatcher/ load planner. The Dispatcher is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and coordinating the delivery of freight. In addition to ensuring the timely movement of cargo, the Dispatcher owns the relationship between the driver and our organization. Ensuring timely and accurate information to our drivers, responding quickly to problems, troubleshooting concerns and pro-actively monitoring cargo as it moves throughout the system.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinating, scheduling, dispatching and planning freight shipments.

• Proactively monitoring customer expectations to ensure they align with operational capabilities.

• The main point of contact for all drivers via phone, text message, or through the WMS operation platform.

• Provide additional support to drivers when issues arise in-route and at recovery/deliver points.

• Monitor shipments to ensure they are exceeding expectations for recovery and/or delivery.

• Communicate in a professional manner with our customers.

• Ensure driver compliance through use of technology and compliance department.

• Actively cooperate with customer service and sales department to ensure customer needs and problems are resolved on a timely basis.

• Any other duties that may be required consistent with the overall scope of the dispatch position.

Requirements:

• Self-motivated problem-solver with strong desire to meet customer needs.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Desire to work in a fast-paced and growing environment.

• Professionalism is essential as the role as is the forward facing position within operations.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Skills:

• Ideal candidate will possess a “can do" attitude with a “will do" work ethic.

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience with a routing software is a plus.

• Minimum three (3) years transportation industry knowledge and experience.

• Prior dispatch/load planning experience.
