Position Summary: Workers Compensation Analyst:
Under general direction of the Human Resources Manager, ensures timely processing of employee Workers' Compensation claims; evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation; makes decisions regarding compensability and appropriateness of claims. Assist with compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
Job Duties: Workers Compensation Analyst:

Communicates and interacts with employees to complete accident investigation and root cause analysis

Liaison between employee and insurance company

Report the claim to insurance company and to individual state based on additional requirements

Administer light duty and return to work employee program by closely working with supervisors and department heads

Responsible for maintaining all workers comp documents, both accident and incident investigations

Communicates and interacts with employees, insurance adjusters, medical professionals, and legal advisors

Assembles facts regarding claims for cases pending litigation; represents the company at Workers' Compensation Administration mediation and formal hearings, and request appropriate level of authority internally to settle claims

Maintains employee claim files in accordance with appropriate best practices and other company policies

Works closely with employees making doctor’s appointments with regard to claim and monitoring same

Coordinates and participates in strategic planning aimed at reducing the incidence of worker's compensation-related injuries through the entire organization

Prepare and summit Workers Comp documents included but not limited to: wage statements, PDA, Job offer letter, job descriptions

Responsible for completing, updating, and reporting OSHA logs for all facilities to BLS and OSHA

Occasional travel to Baltimore, MD plant

Provide employees with appropriate FMLA documents

Work closely with employee’s regarding their FMLA leave and return dates
-
Communicate with payroll regarding employees status and internal payments
-
And other duties assigned by supervisor
Requirements: Workers Compensation Analyst:
-
A CWCP certification is desired
-
5-7 years’ work experience required
-
Ability to multitask and to be a self-starter. Must have a strong sense of urgency
-
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
-
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
-
Experience in a large company (over 1,000 employees) is preferred
-
Past experience with an HRIS system (Kronos experience is desired)
-
Ability to speak Spanish or another language other than English is preferred
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Safety knowledge preferred
Working Conditions: Workers Compensation Analyst:

Working in union environment with a diverse workforce

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects, standing and/or walking for extended periods of times during busy hours

Occasionally required to work in wet and cold environment
