U5-50 Machine Operator will learn to operate the computerized U550 machine. Operator will learn set-up, operation quality standards, safety production standards and routine maintenance of the machine by performing the following duties. Primary Responsibilities: • Operator reviews rolling schedule and studies blueprints, drawings or samples and written specifications to ascertain operational data such as hole size, dimensions and depths of cuts to be made. • Monitors computer readout and adjusts input data according to read failures, data errors, or when out-of-tolerance characteristics are discovered while performing inspections. • Operator will also learn to do the necessary paper work. • Prepares production and delay reports from data in logs and information received from inspections. • Selects and installs router and drill bits in spindle chucks according to specifications. Measure dimensions of processed work piece to verify conformance to specifications. Operator will load parts, lock them down with vacuum or fixtures and cycle the machine. • Operator has to cycle machine as close to continuous as possible to maximize production. • Should be prepared to work with a complex machine and keep pace with production schedules. • Responsible for sign off and 20-minute checks. • Other duties may be assigned. Computer Skills: • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software. Basic Microsoft Windows skills helpful for file management and program navigation. Operator will learn AS400 On line Shop Floor Schedule and machine control software WoodWOP 2.5 and 4.0.
