Referral Staffing Solutions is assisting a local non-profit organization with hiring a Production Assistant for their Tomah location. This role is responsible for assisting and training participants in various vocational tasks in our clients work center program on the assembly floor, in the production department. The Production Assistant will plan, direct and coordinate daily production issues in the rehabilitation facility.

 

Basic Functions and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Production Manager, supervises participants in the work center program on the assembly floor in the production department. Plans, directs and coordinates daily production issues in a rehabilitation facility by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigns participants to jobs and workstations.

  • Maintains quality control in the assembly area.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, work environment.

  • Assists with recording shipping, receiving, inventory, participant time and participant productivity reports.

  • Instructs and monitors participants on safe and efficient work methods.

  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.

  • Assists in time studies and alternate participant activities when needed.

  • Reports any accidents or incidents immediately to supervisor.

  • Primarily responsible to assist and train participants in various vocational tasks.

  • Supervises off site work assignments as necessary.

  • Transports participants as needed using agency vehicles.

  • Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds and or move 150 pounds using a pallet jack.

  • Uses pallet jack to move materials

  • Uses digital scale to weigh/measure product

  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and through written skills. The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read and comprehend written and diagram instruction such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to fill out paper work associated to essential duties.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, participants, customers and the general public.

  • Ability to work with a wide range of persons with disabilities.

  • Must maintain a current valid driver’s license with a driving record that is acceptable to the insurance carrier.
