POSITION – Processing Technician

JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (M-F 7am-3:30pm)

STARTING PAY – $20.00 per hour

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Must have 2 years of work as a Mold Tech

The Process Technician will report to the Manufacturing Manager. The major areas of responsibility for this position are:

• Troubleshooting technical issues within production processes.

• Automation set up and problem solving.

• Training Mold Technicians and Production personnel in best practices.

• Leading and participating in continuous improvement efforts.

• Safely producing quality parts on time for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Learn and teach all aspects Set Up and Troubleshooting for 1K and 2K applications.

  • Minor adjustments to robot positions to accommodate mold setup.

  • Ability to navigate vision systems for troubleshooting.

  • Ability to utilize robot/HMI informational screens for trouble shooting.

  • Involvement with installation of new automation cells.

• Support the production team in day-to-day problem-solving activities as needed.

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis when troubleshooting cells

• Monitor daily production activities and work with the Manufacturing Manager to solve quality and performance problems.

• Refine current processes as needed to improve manufacturing performance and set up process parameter sheets as needed.

• Coordinate with cell leaders and other departments, including quality, tooling, and maintenance.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, especially related to quality and operational efficiency.

• Improve knowledge of the team by facilitating internal training activities for Mold Technicians and General Technicians.

• Become exposed to Design Review Process

• Maintain 6S and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.

• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• This role will be based upon an eight-hour shift. The individual selected must be able to work overtime based upon requirements of the role.

• Able to perform duties of General Technician/Machine Operator.

• Excel at performing duties of Mold Technician.

• Learn, and can train Mold Technicians all aspects of Automation set up and troubleshooting techniques.

  • The individual must be willing to travel for specialized automation training.

• Proven competency in plastic injection molding, along with hands-on experience with raw materials, mold set-up, and excellent troubleshooting skills for electric injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

• Qualified candidate will possess good work ethic, is reliable, self-directed, and dedicated to quality. Must enjoy a fast paced environment.

• Positive attitude and focused on continuous improvement.

• Effective communicator, both written and verbal (English); good visual skills and reasoning ability.

• Ability to lift 55 lbs.

• Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization.

• Basic computer skills required, Excel proficiency a plus.

• Requires two years’ experience as a Mold Technician.
