POSITION – Punch Press Operator II

JOB LOCATION – Chippewa Falls, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediate

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – Weekend Shift (Friday through Sunday, 5:45am to 6:15pm)

STARTING PAY – Up to $22.50 per hour hour based on experience plus shift differential

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1+ years of related experience in manufacturing setting, bonus if it was in sheet metal manufacturing and prior work on a punch press

 

As a Punch Press Operator, you'll be responsible to Operate CNC punch press equipment to produce precision metal parts by cutting and punching according to specifications. Punch Press Operators are responsible for monitoring machine performance, ensuring proper material supply, and performing routine maintenance to maintain efficient and accurate production.

 

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor machines according to work orders, blueprints, and product specifications

  • Load, position, align, and secure workpieces; install and adjust tools, dies, and fixtures as required

  • Measure and inspect completed parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and templates to verify conformance to specifications

  • Perform in-process and final quality checks; detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions

  • Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and surface quality

  • Conduct typical machine shop operations including deburring, tapping, tool setup, and plasma cutting

  • Maintain accurate records of production data, inspections, and operational results

  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment

  • Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition; follow all safety and quality standards

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently within assigned work centers

  • Cross-train and demonstrate flexibility to work across multiple machines and departments as needed

  • Support continuous improvement efforts in safety, quality, and efficiency

  • Meet attendance, productivity, and quality performance standards consistently

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, memos, and simple correspondence

  • Ability to write clear and simple messages or notes

  • Perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders accurately

  • Apply practical reasoning to follow straightforward written or verbal instructions

  • 1+ years of experience in a same or similar role
