We are seeking a detail-oriented Fabrication Estimator to be the financial backbone of our Oshkosh client’s diverse value-added processing operations. This is a critical role that directly impacts our competitiveness and success.

As a Fabrication Estimator, you won't just run numbers—you'll strategize the entire production process to ensure we deliver high-quality products efficiently and profitably. Your core responsibilities include:
Responsibilities

Cost Blueprinting: Analyze customer specifications, CAD files, and complex blueprints/GD&T to prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for diverse fabrication projects.

Process Engineering: Expertly determine material requirements (type, size, quantity) and calculate labor hours and machine time across processes like laser cutting, forming, welding, plasma cutting, sawing, and machining.

Optimization & Strategy: Identify the most cost-effective and efficient manufacturing methods for every job to maintain our competitive edge.

Quote Ownership: Prepare clear, comprehensive quotation packages detailing costs, lead times, and scope of work for both our Sales team and customers.

Collaboration: Work seamlessly with Sales, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure a smooth transition from quote to final production.
Qualifications

Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Fabrication Estimator, preferably in a steel service center, heavy metal, or structural fabrication environment.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of steel materials (carbon, alloy, stainless) and various metal fabrication processes.

Blueprint Mastery: Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Software Proficiency: Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and specialized estimating software is required. Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a strong advantage.

R.I.T.E. Skills: Exceptional mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
