Position – Press Operator

Job Location – Appleton, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  2nd shift

Starting Pay – $25 to $27 per hour

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience in graphic arts, or working as a feeder operator under an experience press operator

As a key support member of the press team, you'll be instrumental in the cost-effective and timely production of high-quality printed material. You will operate as the feeder and work closely with an experienced team leader (press person) on the printing presses.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Press Operation Support: Function as a feeder operator, ensuring the press is running efficiently.
• Mechanical & Electronic Learning: Quickly learn the mechanical and electronic functions of the printing press.
• Ink and Repairs: Perform minor press repairs as needed and mix ink according to job specifications.
• Quality Control: Maintain a strong understanding of what constitutes good quality in the graphic arts field.
• Color Perception: Utilize your better-than-average color perception to ensure accurate reproduction.
• Job Management: Accurately read the job ticket and use your computer skills to scan all job components used and returned to stock (ADP/Navision knowledge is a plus!).
• Teamwork: Take direction from the pressman and communicate effectively with management, customers, and fellow team members.
• Printing Dynamics: Demonstrate a strong willingness and desire to master the physical and chemical dynamics of the printing process.

Qualifications 

• Aptitude: A strong mechanical and electronic aptitude and a desire to work in a hands-on production environment.
• Experience (A Plus): Prior experience as a feeder operator or technical school training in Graphic Arts is highly valued.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding color and print quality.
