Our Oshkosh client is seeking a motivated and safety-focused General Laborer/Finisher to join their production team. This is a crucial, hands-on role responsible for ensuring the finished steel parts meet the highest quality standards before shipment.

Position – Loader/Material handler

Job Location – Oshkosh, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  3rd shift

Starting Pay – $18 to 20 per hour

Required Experience – At least 1 years of experience

As a loader, you will be responsible for the final steps in processing and shipping steel parts. This role involves both skilled finishing work and essential material handling.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Part Finishing: Use various hand tools, including hand grinders, belt sanders, Dynafile, and die grinders, to finish and package parts according to customer specifications.
• Material Movement & Loading: Safely load and unload materials onto truck trailers and move product within the facility using forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Shipping & Packaging: Properly space and arrange material for optimal delivery, ensuring correct weight distribution, and verifying material against the manifest.
• Paperwork & Data Entry: Complete required paperwork and accurately enter order information into the mainframe computer system (including 'wanding' orders). Prepare shipping tags as needed.
• Safety & Maintenance: Strictly follow all company safety policies, wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions.
• Physical Requirements: The ability to push, pull, or lift up to 75 pounds (with team lift or appropriate device required for heavier product). This role involves continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and periodic bending and climbing.

Qualifications 

Required:

• Material Handling Skills: Proven ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including repetitive motions, heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs), and working in varied conditions (noise, dust, chips).
• Teamwork: Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work effectively as part of a production team.
• Basic Math/Reading: Ability to perform simple math (addition/subtraction) and read basic blueprints (Bay 900).
• Safety Focus: Knowledge of general shop procedures and an unwavering commitment to safety.

Preferred:

• Previous experience using grinding hand tools (hand grinder, belt sander, etc.) in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
