Production Specialist (Rework Technician – IPC Certified)
Location: Burnsville, MN
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Overview
An experienced Production Specialist is needed for an established electronics manufacturer specializing in high-reliability printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies used in aerospace, industrial, and medical applications.
This hands-on role focuses on rework, repair, and delicate assembly of electronic components. Ideal for someone with strong soldering and inspection skills who takes pride in precision-based work and holds an active IPC certification.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed rework, repair, and modification of electronic assemblies following IPC standards.
Complete delicate assembly and wiring tasks, including soldering, epoxy bonding, press fitting, and labeling.
Conduct fine-pitch soldering and component replacement using microscopes and rework stations.
Follow engineering drawings, assembly documentation, and process instructions accurately.
Inspect components and solder joints to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards.
Assist with quality control inspections and support other production areas to meet output goals.
Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workspace.
Document work performed and communicate with production and quality teams.
Qualifications
Current IPC certification (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent) required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic manufacturing or rework preferred.
Associate or technical degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
Strong soldering, inspection, and fine-motor assembly skills.
Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and written or verbal instructions.
Experience with ISO, AS, or Six Sigma environments preferred.
Visual acuity of 20/25 or better and ability to pass color blindness testing.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a small team setting.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend over and use a microscope for extended periods.
Lift and carry up to 40 lbs and move or push up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Maintain focus and attention throughout the shift.
