Panel Assembly/Packaging Floater

Employment Term – Temp-to-Hire
Employment Type – Full-Time
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Monday through Friday)
Starting Pay – $20.00 per hour

Required Experience – Minimum 1 year in manufacturing, warehouse, assembly, or related environment, 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented individual to support both the assembly and shipping areas as a floater. This role will split time between building control panels, preparing orders for shipment, operating material-handling equipment, and assisting with packaging tasks. The ideal candidate enjoys a mix of hands-on production work, basic mechanical tasks, and general warehouse duties. Training is provided, and the variety ensures no two days are exactly the same.
Responsibilities
Assembly Support

Assemble control panels by following standard work instructions and job documentation.

Use hand tools and power tools safely to complete wiring, fastening, or panel-building tasks.

Ask questions and collaborate with team leads/supervisors to resolve assembly concerns.

Help prepare completed panels for shipment, including labeling and basic packaging steps.

Keep assembly areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S workplace standards.
Packaging & Shipping Support

Prepare outgoing orders by boxing, crating, wrapping, and labeling products as required.

Load and unload freight, including operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other handling equipment.

Verify outgoing orders for accuracy and assist with receiving incoming materials.

Maintain organized storage areas for boxes, pallets, and packaging supplies; communicate when inventory is low.

Follow all documentation practices for shipping, materials, assembly, and time entry.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.

At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing, assembly, warehouse, or similar environment - 3-5 years experience in manufacturing preferred.

Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and material-handling equipment (forklift experience a plus).

Basic computer skills for time entry and simple recordkeeping.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform regular standing, bending, and material handling.

Strong attention to detail, positive attitude, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Reliable, self-motivated, and eager to learn new skills.
