Production Shift Lead – Plastic Manufacturing
Location: Baldwin, Wisconsin
Pay Range: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: AM and PM Shift Available; 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM or 7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
Shift Structure: Rotating 2-2-3 schedule (work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days; alternating 3-day/4-day weeks and every other weekend off)
About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Production Shift Lead to support daily operations in our plastic manufacturing facility. In this role, you will help manage production flow, coordinate operator activities, support problem-solving initiatives, and ensure quality standards are consistently met. Key Responsibilities
Print work orders and prepare documentation for product rework or inspection
Participate in employee discipline processes as needed
Identify production problems—such as through Gemba Walks—and use established problem-solving methodologies to drive improvements
Make decisions that reduce downtime (e.g., reassigning jobs when necessary)
Assign daily work and job rotations to operators based on skill levels
Document operator attendance accurately and promptly
Coordinate personnel coverage to allow operators to attend required LAL training
Oversee orientation, onboarding, and ongoing training for operators as directed by the Value Stream Manager
Perform visual inspections on manual machines or assist new operators with inspection requirements
Communicate and coordinate with other shifts to ensure operator coverage for vacations, training, and workflow needs
Maintain consistent communication across all production support teams and shifts
Partner closely with the Lead Technician to ensure smooth and efficient shift operations
Support and follow all ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14000 policies, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions as required
Complete all training related to ISO standards and compliance expectations
Qualifications
Required
Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
Ability to read and follow written work instructions
Basic math skills
Strong teamwork skills, self-motivation, and a quality-focused mindset
Reliable attendance and dependability
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
First Responder Training
Prior leadership, coaching, or coordination experience
