Our client is working with a women’s clothing retailer, to implement and integrate Client’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) with the retail website. There is a Sr. PM on the retailer team that is responsible for the overall project, and with whom this PM will be working.
Retailer is integrating their site with DemandWare. DemandWare and Main St. are already seamlessly integrated, so the next piece of the project (and what this PM will be responsible for) is to integrate Main St. Commerce with LogFire. LogFire is a 3rd party managed system that Client uses for their WMS. LogFire has a PM and some developers in Atlanta that our PM will be working with, as well as a larger team of developers in Bangladesh.
Once completed, customers will be able to order product on the retail website, and the order gets passed through/processed by DW and MSC, ending up in LogFire where it becomes an order (ready for Pick/Pack/Ship). Throughout this process, notifications and things such as tracking numbers and ASN (advanced shipping notices) are generated to correspond with the order.
There is a hard go-live date of 9/30/13 for this project, after which there are an additional 6-8 retailers lined up for the same project. Our PM will be in consideration for staying on and helping with the completion of the other projects if all goes well here.
Role/Responsibilities:
The Main Street Commerce system exchanges files as EDI, called Document 850s. The PM will be responsible for driving the LogFire Development Teams to complete the mapping of the 850’s into the warehouse system (WMS), so that orders become pickable orders in the warehouse, ready for the Pick/Pack/Ship part of the process. The PM will need to test and double check all of the work done by LogFire to make sure that they are properly meeting deliverables and to escalate the issue if they are not.
This PM will be communicating with high level executives, excellent presentation and communications skills are a must for this role.
Required Technologies/Experience:
Experience with eCommerce Order Fulfillment (may accept Supply Chain, Retail or General Warehouse System integration experience if relevant).
MS Project and Office Suite or equivalent
Previous experience managing similar projects, with a proven record of success
Year of experience not as important as having managed similar projects in the past
Client is a Windows environment and uses SFTP for moving files between sites/systems (not Web Services)
Exp with DW or MSC a plus, exp with EDI a plus
