Staffing Solutions of Hawaii has an exciting opportunity for the Department of Health - Stop Flu at School (SFAS). The SFAS Collaboration Coordinator is responsible for providing project accounting and finance operations support, to coordinate and facilitate collaborative efforts between Community and Rural Health Centers (locations statewide) and the Hawaii Department of Health Stop Flu at School (SFAS) Program planning and operations team. SFAS clinics currently occur as single point interventions with minimal community provider involvement. SFAS would like to explore expansion of SFAS clinics as an opportunity for the development of partnerships with community-based healthcare providers with the aim of improving continuous “whole child” primary care and services, reducing operational burdens, and encouraging CHC/RHC involvement in disaster/pandemic response planning and training. Activities include outreach to Community/Rural Health Centers (CHC/RHCs) and invitation for CHC/RHC participation and partnership in SFAS Clinic activities. Urgent needs include RN staffing support for schools located in rural areas.

 

Description:

  • Attend internal and statewide SFAS planning/operations meetings. Provide updates as need to SFAS planning and operations teams.

  • Develop community collaboration assessment methodology in order to systematically assess collaborative opportunity/potential at each CHC/RHC.

  • Based on approved assessment methodology, conduct Oahu and Neighbor Island CHC/RHC community collaboration assessments for each CHC/RHC to determine interest and capacity for participation and partnership in SFAS clinic activities.

  • Based on outcome of CHC/RHC collaboration assessments, develop partnership plans for each CHC/RHC.

  • Communicate partnership plans to SFAS planning/operational team. Upon approval, work with CHC/RHCs to implement plans.

  • During staff down time or other lulls in activity, Staffing Coordinator would be expected to support other Immunization Branch Vaccine Supply and Distribution Section programs, including activities related to the Hawaii Vaccines For Children (VFC) Program, the CDC Immunization Quality Improvement For Providers (IQIP) project, and logistical support for SFAS.

 

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of college preferred, or high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of applicable management experience.

  • Two and one-half (2 1/2) years of professional, administrative, or logistical work experience that involved duties that demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, and common office equipment and computer programs; the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in work systems, speak and write simply and directly in a professional manner.

  • Ability to develop work plans and conduct work independently.

  • Ability to establish cooperative agreements and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of agencies and programs.

  • Ability to develop and conduct surveys and analyze results.

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, and other office suite software.

  • Ability to carry out a wide range of administrative functions, including various complex assignments; maintain an effective work pace under periodic deadlines; learn and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; learn and apply a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; operate and maintain various common office equipment; perform basic arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.

  • Possess good oral communication and written presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Adhere to professional standards and demonstrate ethical behavior and a professional business attitude.

  • Capable with computer assisted word processing, survey development, spreadsheet development and statistical analysis.

  • Ability to prepare data clearly for use by others; strong attention to detail.

  • Able to compare and check information rapidly and accurately.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Able to be flexible and effective in a fast-paced working environment.

  • Have good organizational skills

  • Willing and able assist with tasks that may be physical in nature, for example, clinic supply deliveries and pick-ups.

  • Basic statistical methods and techniques; office practices and procedures; business English, spelling and grammar; mathematics; the operation and maintenance of common office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, fax machine, calculator, and scanner; Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel proficiency; data entry.

  • Must be able to operate hand trucks, two-way radios, common office equipment such as computer, scanner, fax, copier, etc.

  • Experience developing and conducting surveys and analyzing results.

  • Must be able to travel on Oahu (driver’s license required).

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

  • Staff may be required to stand, walk, push, pull, use hands to handle or feel and lift and reach with hands and arms.

  • Work may require staff to be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
