This Bank offers consumer and commercial banking, mortgage lending and loans for residential construction, commercial real estate financing, and insurance products and services on the West Coast and Hawaii.

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for processing Lockbox payments. Processing includes scanning and verifying data on payments and accompanying documents, reviewing images scanned into our Lockbox Processing Software and performing any data entry required per client specifications. This position requires that all payments be accounted for on the day they are received, while adhering to strict processing deadlines. The processor must accurately complete high volume, repetitive tasks while maintaining a high degree of focus and attention to detail. This is necessary to maintain service level quality and meet established processing deadlines.

 

Description:

Lockbox

  • Opens mail and extracts Lockbox payments; sorts and prepares batches for processing.

  • Scans coupons and checks into the Lockbox processing system, repairing and OCR or MICR misreads and balancing transactions.

  • Creates each customer’s daily reports and X9 files and saving the files in the appropriate file location on the shared network drive.

  • Provides monthly transaction totals (# of checks processed, # of coupons processed and total $ amount of payments processed) for each Lockbox client to Cash Management.

  • Reports each client’s daily processing totals to Cash Management.

  • Submits any changes (opening new accounts, adding or deleting Lockbox services on accounts) to Cash Management and Lockbox software vendor on the same day the request is received from Branch staff or the client.

  • Records and communicates all unprocessable items (payments returned to clients).

  • Documents, identifies, and reports error trends to Hawaii leadership team and Cash Management.

  • Conduct consistent maintenance of records and storage according to lockbox procedures.

  • Proactively communicates with Cash Management, Lockbox vendor and other internal departments as necessary regarding any system issues and or account set-up errors and resolve it in a timely manner.

  • When required, serves as liason between Organization and Client.

  • May conduct offsite Lockbox presentations in concert with the branch manager to build branch business customer base, this position acts as an expert in cash management products.

Customer Development

  • Effectively partner with other business lines within the Bank to identify sales opportunities and provide an outstanding customer experience.

  • Open and close all consumer and businesses products.

  • Make referrals to the Branch and District Managers or to business partners in other business lines within the company as assigned.

  • Ability to identify client needs, present banking solutions and bank products. Recognize closing opportunities and retain and grow customer relationships. Ability to initiate customer contact through letters, email, telephone or personal contact.

Service

  • Actively listen to customers, and maintain a friendly, positive, professional attitude. Resolve difficult situations with creativity, tact and diplomacy.

Other Responsibilities

  • Pick up lockbox payments from Post Office and client location.

  • Maintain a complete understanding of cash management products, services and the Bank’s acquisition strategy.

  • Knowledgeable of relevant software and ability to conduct minor troubleshooting.

  • Participates in branch events/sponsorships and community service projects.

  • Perform Customer Service Representative duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 years of experience in customer service, sales or banking required. Sales experience in the banking or financial industry preferred.

  • Local travel required. Valid driver's license, vehicle, and liability insurance are required.

  • Accuracy with strong attention to detail and focus on quality.

  • Strong 10-key skills.

  • Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and follow specific guidelines.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment. Ability to work quickly and accurately, to analyze information and make decisions.

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills. Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.

  • Able to operate a Personal Computer and view information on a monitor.

  • Must be able to sit for many hours each day.

  • Must be able to communicate via telephone and possess dexterity to include filing document, reaching and bending.

  • May be required to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds.

  • Ability to speak and understand English and express ideas and have difficult conversation in person and over the telephone.

  • Ability to listen and comprehend speech.

  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, interpret data and information, read, write and organize information in an orderly manner.

  • Willing and able to travel occasionally as needed.

  • Ability to operate teller and office equipment including computers, adding machines, telephones, typewriters, copy machines, fax machines, electronic credit card authorization terminals, and security devices.

  • Normal business office environment.

  • May be required to travel to/from other branch offices or other facilities including neighbor islands.

  • Ability to work in artificial light for extended periods of time.
