Ideally situated in the Pacific Northwest, California, and Hawaii this company takes extra effort to distribute products from the source to the consumer. This company employs skillfully trained professionals who are experts in all phases of order flow and service requirements. This company has the largest refrigerated food warehouse in the State of Hawaii along with all the facilities, manpower, and expertise to assure refrigerated shipments are well take care of.
Position Summary:
Performs all HR activities necessary to ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, union contracts and company policies. Is responsible for the administration of employee benefits, payroll, processing, and administrative assistance to the General Manager.
Description:

Process all employee benefits for union and non-union personnel.

Multi-tasking a must.

Weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing with Ceridian.

Updates personnel files and union contract.
-
Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for payroll employee benefits, and bank reconciliation.

Assist employees and manager with questions regarding benefits and company policies.

Provide assistance with the planning of company functions and other administrative duties as needed.

Knowledge of open enrollments prior to contract renewal.

Work with insurance company and employees on worker’s compensation and TDI claims.

Assist in the coordination of union contract negotiations.

Responsible for tracking OSHA-required data

Opening and distribution of incoming mail daily.

Distribute weekly warehouse, maintenance, and office labor reports to managers.

Updates Employee Handbooks as needed.

Produce Identification cards for new employee as part of Homeland Security

Onboarding of new hires and safety orientation furnished by HCG Associates.

Other Functions as requested by the Vice President and General Manager.
Requirements:

Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources or 3+ years of related experience required.

Must be familiar with payroll system through reports and audits

Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word.
