Terms of Employment: Full-time

With some assistance, manages, maintains, expands and services assigned accounts, including placing employee benefit programs for clients and prospects in accordance with objectives, procedures, and policies of the company. Works as an active team member to meet retention goals, identify sales opportunities and achieve profitability goals for assigned client(s); and oversees client specific regulatory compliance requirements. Supports and executes major projects and business development initiatives. (Assigned smallest & least complex accounts, with supervision)

Essential Functions:

  1. Manages multiple clients of basic complexity with minimal assistance/supervision simultaneously with varying scope and size including marketing and renewal process and profitability.

  2. Assists Benefit Consultant or Senior Benefit Consultant with their client projects including marketing and renewal process.

  3. Assists in retention goals.

  4. Identifies opportunities for revenue growth.

  5. Provides on-going communication to clients on project status, timing and deliverables, and issue resolution.

  6. Manages policy renewal process including strategic planning for clients, objective setting, plan design changes, rate negotiation, utilization review, vendor changes, annual re-enrollment meetings and participant communication and scheduling of vendor meetings.

  7. Implements requested changes and prepares confirmation documentation to the carrier.

  8. Develops and implements benefits communication including marketing, renewal, and Open Enrollment exhibits; presents at employee meetings with the assistance of a lead consultant.

  9. Reviews client contracts and amendments and delivers to client.

  10. Ensures that client service issues are promptly resolved.

  11. As appropriate, recommends additional coverage or products to increase revenue to the practice.

  12. Responsible for compliance review and the delivery of compliance documents/requirements

  13. Monitors legislative updates and works with the Benefits Team and lead consultant to proactively advise clients of relevant legislative issues and marketplace updates.

  14. Assigns tasks to outsource partners and responsible to review, finalize and present results (with assistance of lead consultant).

  15. Conduct Open Enrollment meetings with or without carrier(s), creating presentation content, and preparing promotional items as requested.

  16. Assist at trade shows and expos as needed/assigned.

  17. Consistently participates as a cooperative, proactive team member in projects involving other associates throughout the practice and office.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, preferably in Human Resources, Business or Finance.

  • 1-3 years Employee Benefit Consulting, Employer Related Insurance Carrier or Human Resources experience preferred.

  • Combination of equivalent education & job-related experience will be considered Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Life and Health Insurance License required or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of insurance brokerage business and medical, life and disability experience and underwriting exhibits.

  • Highly self-motivated, ability to work independently, goal and people oriented.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze, and problem solve towards a solution.

  • Strong relationship building, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in PC skills, including MS 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
