Job Duties:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be responsible for processing and managing all accounts payable transactions. This is a vital role in ensuring accurate financial records and timely payments to vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review and verify accuracy and completeness of vendor invoices by matching invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.

Code expense invoices to the appropriate account and profit center information.

Enter invoices into system in a timely manner

Ensure all expense invoices have proper approvals before processing.

Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances

Prepare and process weekly check runs.

Respond to any vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues and communicate effectively with vendors to obtain necessary documentation.

Setup new vendor accounts by verifying federal ID numbers, terms of payment, etc.

Ensures credit is received for outstanding credit memos

Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel or related software as well as other accounting software programs

Experience using Google Workspace apps such as GMail, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

Ability to operate related office equipment such as computers, 10-key calculators, multifunction copy/fax/print machines

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Enter trade expenses (PO receipts for merchandise)

Follow up on any discrepancies with Purchasers/Sales Support Staff

Code & Enter expense invoices (General Ledger experience)

Check run - every Friday

Enter any manual checks

Print and review vendor statements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business preferred

Previous experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles is preferred.
