Position Summary: Honolulu Park Place seeks a professional, vigilant, and exceptionally welcoming Security Guard to join our dedicated team. This position is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of our residents, guests, staff, and property while upholding the highest standards of customer service and embodying the Aloha Spirit in every interaction. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, an excellent communicator capable of compassionate de-escalation, and committed to creating a secure and gracious environment. Key Responsibilities: • Embody the Aloha Spirit: Greet all residents, guests, vendors, and staff with warmth, respect, and genuine cordiality. Serve as a welcoming first point of contact. • Access Control: Monitor and control access to the property, verifying identification and authorization for all individuals and vehicles entering the premises according to established procedures. • Patrol and Monitoring: Conduct regular foot patrols of the interior and exterior of the property, including common areas, amenities, parking structures, and grounds, to deter unauthorized activity, identify potential security risks, and ensure property rules are being followed. Monitor CCTV systems effectively. Incident Response: Respond promptly and professionally to security alarms, disturbances, emergencies (fire, medical, security incidents), and resident concerns. Assess situations quickly and take appropriate action according to established protocols. • De-escalation and Conflict Resolution: Address potentially tense situations or conflicts with residents, guests, or others calmly, respectfully, and compassionately. Utilize strong communication and de-escalation techniques to resolve issues peacefully whenever possible. Reporting: Prepare clear, concise, and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in a timely manner. • Customer Service: Provide helpful information and assistance to residents and guests, enhancing their experience at Honolulu Park Place. Enforcement: Politely and professionally enforce property rules and regulations to maintain order and safety. • Emergency Liaison: Coordinate effectively with Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Honolulu Fire Department (HFD), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and other relevant agencies during emergencies. • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. • Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • Valid State of Hawaii Guard Employee License (Act 208). • Proven ability to embody the Aloha Spirit; must be naturally gracious, cordial, and respectful in all interactions. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), with a strong emphasis on active listening and clear articulation. • Demonstrated ability to handle and de-escalate tense situations calmly, professionally, and compassionately. • High school diploma or GED equivalent. • Ability to remain alert and observant for extended periods. • Strong sense of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism. • Basic computer skills for report writing and system monitoring. • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as the property requires 24/7 coverage. • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, potentially climb stairs, and work in various environmental conditions. Desired Qualifications: • Previous security experience in a luxury residential, high-end hospitality, or customer-service-intensive environment. • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. • Experience with common security systems (CCTV, access control software). Work Environment: This position operates within a luxury residential condominium environment. The role involves both indoor and outdoor duties and requires interaction with a diverse group of residents, guests, and staff. Compensation: $20 per hour
