Job Title: Bilingual Customer Service Associate (Japanese/English)

Hours: Monday – Sunday, 6:00AM – 10:00PM to total 40 hours/week, 5 days/week

Location: Waikiki or Ala Moana (The company will assign a work location)

 Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Description:

  • Provides general information on dining, shopping, optional tours, etc. and assistance to Japanese customers at various plaza locations and Travel Plaza by telephone or briefing in person

  • Solves problems and helps with emergency situations

  • Reports to supervisor any extraordinary incidents with tours such as accidents, long flight delays, etc.

  • Meets with tour to adjust and finalize tour itinerary to ensure smooth movement

  • Reviews rooming list of arrival groups provided by hotels to verify that requests such as category, room type, bed type, view, etc. are confirmed

  • Prepares documents and materials for arrival tours

  • Reviews itinerary and arrangements

  • Makes simulation for incoming groups

  • Plans workflow according to updated movements

  • Sells and books optional tours

  • Sells souvenirs and other items

  

Requirements:

  • Japanese language skill at business level (Speak, Read and Write)

  • 1 year experience in customer service or travel industry preferred

  • Ability to professionally and effectively communicate and negotiate with employees, business partners, and clients in Japanese and English via written, verbal, and reading communication methods at a business level

  • Working knowledge of Hawaii’s tourism infrastructure, Japanese tour characteristics, and Japanese culture and customs

  • Basic math, 10-key, and cash-handling skills

  • Working knowledge and skills with basic computer systems and software, application programs, e-mail and standard office equipment

  • Problem-solving skills to flexibly meet demands of customers

  • Must be customer-service orientated

  • Must be able to have a flexible schedule and be okay with overtime as deemed necessary
