The Plus Group is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Technician for a leader in the food processing industry. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Ensure work is performed based will facilitate best-in-class supply chain practices including strategic sourcing, establishment and enforcement of policies and procedures, personnel development, cost analysis and risk management through performance metrics.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is performed based on daily/weekly/monthly/annually work schedules within your department. Processing is a 24/7 activity during the harvest season.

  • Bring to the immediate attention of operator, shift leader, or mill supervisor any situation that could affect quality or safety of product. i.e. dropping parts into product, spilling oil into product etc.

  • Responsible to perform work which meets an acceptable level of quality. i.e. structurally sound welds, proper installation of parts in accord with manufacturers recommendations.

  • Responsible to repair, install and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Follow Company's Safety and Accident Prevention Rules, GMP’s, HACCP, and other food safety and quality programs.

  • Operate fork lift safely and adhere to the fork lift safety rules and perform fork lift inspections.

  • Responsible to repair fork lifts and other vehicles. Complete maintenance work order log for daily activities.

  • Responsible to perform extensive repair on mill equipment. i.e. conveyors, augers, elevators, bearing etc.

  • Must be available off-schedule at times and work well with the schedule demands of a seasonal food processing facility.

 

Job Requirements:

Experience in food manufacturing (Prefer 5 years minimum)

  • Good communication skills relating to employee

  • Must be able to weld and use oxy/accet. Torch. Must have own tools.

  • Have basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems and assist the maintenance electrician.

  • Must be able to operate any tools or equipment which are common to the trade.

  • To troubleshoot equipment or vehicle failures.

  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Spanish proficiency is a plus.

  • Have knowledge to perform maintenance and repair of mill equipment.

  • Knowledge of Lock out Tag out Procedures, HACCP, GMP’s, Organic Handling Procedures, Allergen Control Program, Food Plant Security, Glass and Hard Plastic, Quality related policies, and Safety programs, and make sure plant operations are complying with those programs.
