SUMMARY: The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of trained professional mechanics in maintaining (preventative as well as break/fix) all production and related equipment in optimal condition. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for the activities of outside contractors when they are engaged to perform work. The Modesto plant is unique in its capabilities as it produces Fluid, Ice Cream, Butter, Powder, and Cultured Products. In addition to being challenging, this is an integral role to the success of the overall operation as is rewarded commensurately.

Requirements

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Manage, organize, coordinate, and lead daily activities of union maintenance team on assigned shifts.

· Evaluate, train, and develop the maintenance team.

· Support, direct, motivate and coach the maintenance staff in safe work practices resulting in zero employee injuries.

· Lead the continuous improvement (people and process) of the performance within the Maintenance organization.

· Ensure proper use of all related software, including Corporate Asset Maintenance Management programs.

· Ensure maintenance work orders are executed with the highest standards of engineering, integrity, product Food Safety, safety, and environmental protection.

· Manage preventive/predictive repairs for optimal production equipment utilization.

· Utilize predictive maintenance technologies to minimize and plan for operational maintenance.

· Coordinate with Production, Quality/Food Safety and Project departments daily to resolve technical and operational issues.

· Manage Repair & Maintenance financial resources within the provided annual operating budget.

· Ensure availability of equipment and is fully compliant (Safety, OSHA, etc.)

· Other duties as requested and assigned.

 
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The desired requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to be successful in this role:

· A degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.

· Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Maintenance technical field in a food & beverage manufacturing facility.

· In depth knowledge of food processing equipment maintenance and technology.

· Ability to provide leadership in food safety and knowledge of SQF requirements.

· Analytical skills and proven problem-solving skills.

· Commitment to provide a safe work environment that meets all requirements of the company as well as any regulatory body (i.e., CAL-OSHA).

· Knowledge and understanding of Ammonia Refrigeration systems and CAL/ARP RMP programs.

· Knowledge and experience with HazMat program and SPCC programs.

· Knowledge and experience managing environmental regulations.

· Knowledge and understanding of Plant Automation/PLC programs.

· Strong communicator with service minded work philosophy.

· General understanding of financial analysis, budget reports and relevant business drivers.

· Must be able to work any shift.

 

Salary: $75,000-$85,000
