SUMMARY
Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment. Constructs and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in establishment. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties with minimal supervision. Performs basic metal fabricating using general knowledge of welding and proper torch operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
*Observes mechanical equipment in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
*Completes repairs in a timely and safe manner, observing all Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures.
*Dismantles equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
*Assists in the training of apprentices and new employees.
*Evaluates and suggests ways to eliminate reoccurring problems.
*Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements or reason for failure.
*Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control instruments.
*Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in equipment.
*Lubricates and cleans parts and equipment.
*Starts equipment to test its performance.
*Requisition parts and supplies
*Documents supply usage to maintain supply and spare parts inventory.
*Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
*Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
*Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, to diagnose malfunction.
*Diagnoses and replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
*Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
*Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
*Maintains good housekeeping in and around work area.
*Wears all required Personal Protective Equipment.
*Reacts to change productively and works well with others.
*Utilizes basic welding and machining skills.
*Agrees to drug and alcohol testing and receives negative results.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Program certificate; journeyman apprenticeship or four+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to interpret complex electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic blueprints.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid State-issued Driver's License and Forklift License. Completion of Paulson Interactive Training within two years.

Job Hours Main job hours are 8 hrs. a day. Due to customer demands and the function of the machines the hours are subject to change at any given time. The employee may be required to work past their normal working hours and may be required to work weekends due to the demands of our customers and failure to the machines. therefore, also due to demands of our customers and the functioning of the equipment the employee will be expected to be on call during the evening and weekends that they are not at work.
