Forklift Driver/Material Handler
SUMMARY
Loads, unloads, and moves materials and work in process between production areas using forklift truck.
Assists operators in keeping presses and equipment running safely and efficiently.
Provides back-up coverage for receiving clerk responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Locates and distributes materials or containers to specified production areas according to production schedule and work orders to ensure limited downtime.
Opens containers.
Ensures raw materials are stocked In designated areas.
Performs quality checks on containers coming off presses.
Examines documentation on containers: ensures proper labeling.
Moves finished containers to quality area for check in.
Empties and rakes scrap bins at presses.
Unloads, loads, and stacks materials using forklift truck.
Operates forklift truck using safe operating procedures.
Ensures forklift truck meets operational specifications through daily routine checks.
Inspects incoming shipments for damage prior to unloading truck.
Signs packing slip and puts in designated area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Basic mechanical ability.
Ability to complete necessary paperwork through basic math, reading and writing skills.
High School Diploma or GED.
Pay $11 to $14.00 per hour depending on shift.
