Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, and maintain a variety of manual and CNC equipment. The Machinist will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining principles, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Primary Job Responsibilities: The following are the major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties by the incumbent. Unless otherwise stated, each employee is responsible for their own work and safety for themselves and their co-workers.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines, such as lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce parts to exact specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining operations and dimensions.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine attachments for each job.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions and tolerances.
• Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to achieve desired results.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
• Follow established quality control procedures to ensure product conformity.
• Implement 5S principles to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and resolve technical issues.
• Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.

Experience/Prerequisites:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining preferred.
• Proven experience as a machinist in a production shop environment.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and tooling.
• Experience with manual and CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and quality control procedures.
• Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Competency Expectations: Demonstrate required skills within 6 (six) months.
