Material Handler Job Description

Job Summary

The Material Handler will operate a sit down forklift and a walkie stacker to move pallets to logistics for shipping.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Use software to determine orders to pull and stage for shipping

• Enter data into software for inventory control

• Accuracy in pulling orders and entering data into software

• Verify orders pulled are not damaged or incorrect and follow process to resolve

• Cross train in different areas in warehouse to help as needed

Work Hours

• This position is Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional Saturday

• Overtime during the week is also possible

Required Skills/Abilities

• Minimum of one year of recent certified sit down forklift and walkie stacker experience

• Working knowledge of technology such as RF scanner, tablets, and inventory control

systems

• Strong attention to details of orders and processes

• Ability to read, understand, and pull customers’ orders accurately

• Basic math skills

• Keep work area neat and organized

• Always follow all safety requirements for sit down lift and walkie stacker operation

• Always wear all required PPE

• Ability to cross train in other areas in the warehouse

• Ability to collaborate with a team in professional manner

Physical Requirements

• Sit, Stand, bend, stoop, and walking during entire shift

• Manuel dexterity

• Ability to lift to 40lbs

• Ability to stack boxes on pallets when needed for shipping
