The Accounting lead works closely with General Manager and Controller.
Responsibilities include:
Management
- Successfully leads and oversees the accounting team consisting of an Accounting Specialist and Office Administrator.
- Develops departmental and individual goals and objectives and ensures that employees are held accountable for their performance.
- Implements standards operating procedures (SOP) for department.
- Develop new processes to enhance financial efficiency.
- Manages the daily operations of general accounting task within the department.
Training
Accountable for providing comprehensive training to new staff members, as well as continuing education for the accounting department.
Financial Analysis
- Conduct an in depth analysis and present a comprehensive report to the management team regarding departmental operations and outcomes.
- Utilize vendor and supplier verification processes to assess costs and suggest cost saving strategies to upper management.
- Manage cash flow and optimize working capital
Assist with additional accounting responsibilities within department
- A/R - Prepare, verify, and process customer invoices. Monitoring and collecting overdue invoice payments from customers using a range of effective strategies.
- A/P – manage the processing of vendor invoices and promptly issue checks for payment.
- Preparing and recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and making bank deposits.
- Coordinate and maintain records for staff, customers, vendors, and expense reports.
- Prepare monthly sales tax return and payment
- Prepare corporate quarterly taxes
- Process warranty credits and RGAs to customers
- Conduct monthly processing of credit card accounts by gathering and evaluating receipts provided by employees.
- Process and submit all accounting information to accounting in Italy corporate office.
Qualifications/Requirements
· Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
· High School Diploma or equivalent with combination of education, training and experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred
· Strong math and research skills
· Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, Excel (vlookup and pivot tables), Word and Outlook.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work independently on assigned duties
· Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
