Maintenance Assistant Manager

MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES:

Supervise and organize the work schedules of the assigned personnel to maximize performance.

Manage the completion of all repairs on plant equipment, building, and grounds in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Direct capital improvement or other projects from job bid to commissioning as directed by the Operations Manager or other Management.

Prepare and maintain the required documentation to support maintenance tasks and machine performance history.

Monitor downtime performance for manufacturing lines and implement actions to eliminate equipment failure/repair downtime events using root cause analysis.

Coordinate and assist with building maintenance (landscaping, sprinkler system, HVAC, etc.).

  • Develop standards and instruct proper maintenance in accordance with OSHA regulations.

  • Direct the continuous development of the Maintenance crew to support the needs of the process.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school education or GED plus credited degreed/certified educational training and/or a minimum of ten (10) years direct hands-on experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance; along with supervisory/management experience.

  • Must possess very sound troubleshooting skills and direct knowledge of: Electrical controls and PLCs, drives, mechanical power transmission components and assemblies, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components, reading electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical power distribution schematics.

  • Must be capable of basic math, read and use a tape measure/caliper/micrometer, operation of common hand and power tools in a maintenance shop environment.

  • Able to read, understand, and communicate instruction/information in a clear and concise manner both written and verbal forms.

  • Must be capable of working Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, also, after hours as well as responding to call-in situations as required.  Manufacturing operations are continuous (24/7/365).

  • Must be flexible to constant change and well organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks, and prioritize; exceptional attention to detail.

  • The following tasks are required on a regular basis while performing the duties of this position:  sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk/hear, and climb up and down stairs.  

  • Work safely at all times, and follow all work and safety procedures.

  • Work efficiently and with minimal supervision (self-motivated).

  • Capable of lifting thirty-five (35) lbs. on a continuous basis, and at least fifty (50) lbs. as needed.  Over fifty (50) lbs. will require assistance.

  • Must be capable of climbing ladders and stairs and working at high elevations.

  • Work well with co-workers/supervisor – as a team.
