Description: Serves as technical expert for bank card applications. Responsible for consulting with management and IT to plan, design, develop and administer bank card application systems. This includes gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, systems requirements or to run the business. This position will work frequently with bank card resources, other departments, bank customers, and will likely be working on concurrent project teams. Resource will need to be able to manage the workload of regular departmental duties plus those duties assigned through projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to analyze impacts of changes on systems and end-users and take the necessary steps to ensure successful implementations.
Provide ad-hoc query support and report delivery presenting analysis and results to management and other stakeholders.
Responds to daily portfolio reporting or analysis issues. Accountable for proactively identifying and elevating portfolio trends.
Responsible for historical tracking of portfolio data in a format accessible for management and regulators.
System admin responsibilities for defined bank card systems. Creation and maintenance of systems documentation and procedures and training of back-ups for data and systems analyst job functions.
Identify and implement solutions which result in cost reductions and/or revenue enhancements and enhanced operational efficiencies.
Maintain strong business relationships with teammates, customers and systems vendors.
Interact with IT staff, business managers, service partners and end-users regarding the development of the system specifications.
Translate user requests/needs for technical resources (programmers, IT personnel) as needed.
Partner to recommend solutions for process improvements and automation.
Exercises independent judgment in analysis of portfolio performance. Responsible for presenting information to management including identifying, reporting, and interpreting trends, uses techniques ranging from simple data aggregation to statistical analysis and more complex data mining.
Works closely with bank card marketing to analyze and report results and insights from marketing initiatives. Uses data analysis to recommend improvements to selection criteria for targeted marketing efforts comparing promotion results to test group for comparisons.
Ensures compliance and audit requirements are met on all responsibilities assigned by adhering to Visa and MasterCard regulations as well as federal rules and regulations. These regulations include, but are not limited to, Truth in Lending Act, FCRA, Fair Lending, Electronic Funds Transfers Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (Financial Privacy and Safeguard Rules), Identity Theft/Red Flag Rules, Vendor Management, and Bank Secrecy Act.
Skills and Abilities: Advanced knowledge of Windows Office Suite. Solid understanding of databases, preferably SQL. Ability to create reports using varied sources of data. Knowledge of banking regulations, procedures, and policies. Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills are imperative. Must have a willingness to take on projects as needed while completing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual work requirements. Must be a motivated self-starter willing to participate directly in all work to be done. Analytical, critical thinking, research and problem solving skill with keen attention to detail.
Education and Experience Required: 3+ years related work experience (systems/data analyst or closely related position). Bachelors degree with a business or computer science background preferred.
