Full job description Framer Florence, OR SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled Construction Framer to join our team. As a Construction Framer, you will be responsible for constructing the framework of buildings, ensuring that they are structurally sound and built to code. The Construction Framer will work closely with other construction team members to complete projects in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in general construction, framing residential and commercial buildings, as well as a strong attention to detail. Key responsibilities of the Construction Framer include measuring and cutting materials, assembling framework components, and installing trusses and joists, hanging drywall, outing upsiding, etc. The Construction Framer must also be able to read and interpret blueprints and follow project specifications accurately. The Construction Framer will be required to work at heights and in various weather conditions, so physical fitness and stamina are essential for this role. Additionally, the Construction Framer must have a good understanding of safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for themselves and their colleagues. WHAT YOU WILL DO: • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately and when required. • Safe and correct utilization of a variety of hand, power, and pneumatic tools such as hammers, nail guns, staplers, drills, belt and orbital sanders, DX5 Hilti Powder-Actuated tool, routers etc. • Safe utilization of ladders, scaffolds, and step ladders. • Read and interpret plans for appropriate dimensions, spacing, and other engineering callouts, including material requirements. • Measure accurately and cut precisely, various types of lumber. • Use squares, tape measures, levels, and zip levels to accurately build out standard framing spacing requirements. • Install hardware such as hangers, bolts, nails, fasteners, etc. • Install floor joists, subfloor, and ceiling joists. • Install ladders, head outs, blocking and insulation. • Wall, crippler walls, skylights and window layout and installation. • Apply various adhesives and caulking. • Use basic math skills to perform measurements of cuts, angles, and other dimensions as required. WHAT YOU WILL BRING: • At least 3 years’ experience in framing in a construction environment. • Ability to appropriately use a tape measure. • Basic math skills including and understanding of fractions and decimals. • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures. • Problem solving skills. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Able to lift and carry weights of up to 50lbs. • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that involve bending, twisting, and lifting. • Blueprint reading and knowledge. • Basic Knowledge of Building codes and requirements.
