Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring for qualified, patient-care-focused Medical Assistant II to work for a hospital in Southwest Houston, TX. Pediatric experience-minimum 2 years primary care experience required. Spanish/English bilingual preferred. Injection experience required.


Medical Assistant II are responsible for patient care and excellent customer service in the ambulatory setting. To assist in the coordination of flow and provider schedules to effectively manage patient care.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes and interacts with all patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.
  • Introduces patients/families to My Chart and assist with the enrollment as needed.
  • Responds to customer questions with prompt information and/or service related to appointment status, wait time, or unanticipated problems.
  • Communicates with patient, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic processes.
  • Proactively approaches dissatisfied customers and implements customer service recovery measures.
  • Identifies prolonged wait times for patients in waiting room and reports to team lead or Practice Leader.
  • Obtains translation services as needed for patients and/or families.
  • Participates as a member of the care team, working with each member of the team to meet goals of patient as identified in care and treatment plan; participates in care team meetings such as daily huddles, monthly staff and Center Team.
  • Attends staff meetings or signs attendance records for reading of minutes and attends mandatory training and development activities by established guidelines as evidenced by supervisory observation and written/verbal feedback.
  • Notifies licensed staff or supervisor when unable to complete assigned s or responsibilities.


Job Requirements:

  • Duties include knowledge and execution of all pediatric vaccines and administration.

  • Familiar with insurance verification
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Comfortable answering incoming calls and making outgoing calls
  • Knowledge of nursing/medical assistant patient care tasks, the managed care industry, appointment scheduling, related medical terminology and customer service concepts.
  • The ability to operate proficiently a personal computer and basic clinic/patient care, office equipment; demonstrate interpersonal skills; demonstrate good verbal communication skills; demonstrate good time management skills and provide excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to demonstrate quick decision making and self-initiated work behaviors is necessary.


Education/Certification Requirements:

High School diploma or GED required.

  • Current BLS-American Heart Association required.
  • One of below certifications required:
  • CCMA - Cert-Cert Clinical MA - CCMA via National Healthcare Association Or

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Four, 10 hour shifts. Mon-Saturday availability 
  • Pay: $21/hr + benefits
