  • Dean’s Professional Services is now hiring a qualified, patient-care-focused CT Specialist to work in a State Hospital in Austin, Texas

  • The CT Specialist is responsible for accurately interpreting a physician's scanning instructions, administering contrast materials, preparing, and operating the CT scan equipment, and positioning the patient to capture the appropriate images.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow. Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.
  • Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.
  • Demonstrating age-appropriate care with all patients, and appropriately preparing patients for procedures.
  • Verifies patient’s pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
  • Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure, such as medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to
     medications, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation, or artifacts.
  • Based on order, determines the type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on the patient’s age, weight and
     medical/physical status.
  • Anticipates and responds to patient's needs throughout the entire encounter.
  • Provide clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family, and others. 
  • Addresses patient/family questions regarding the procedure and refers questions about treatment or prognosis to a licensed independent practitioner.
  • Provides information to patients, health care providers, students, and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of
     individuals in the profession.
  • Provide a positive experience to students in the role of a clinical instructor.
  • Maintains current knowledge of equipment, materials, medications, and processes.
  • Seeks experience and knowledge in the technical and clinical areas to gain expertise.

  • Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Required
  • Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program- Required   
  • Pediatric Experience – Required 
  • CMRT - Cert Med Radiologic Techngst Texas Medical Board- Required
  • CT-ARRT - ARRT RegTech Comp Tomography- Required   
  • CT-NMTCB - NMTCB Computed Tomography- Required    
  • R-ARRT - ARRT RegTech Radiography-Preferred  

     
  • Job Details:
  • Schedule: Will be alternating shifts, but mainly night shift and weekends
  • Possible on-call as needed
  • Starting at $55/hr. (based on experience) + benefits.
  • Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program.
