??? Operations/Production Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Operations/Production Manager to lead our plating and production operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in metal finishing, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in driving efficiency and quality through process improvement. This role requires a dynamic leader capable of managing daily production, troubleshooting complex line issues, and overseeing the successful execution of new plating projects.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management

Oversee all daily production activities within the plating shop, ensuring all manufacturing goals are met for output, quality, and on-time delivery.

Develop, implement, and maintain robust production planning schedules to optimize resource utilization and workflow.

Apply and champion Lean Manufacturing principles to continuously identify and implement process improvements that reduce waste and increase operational efficiency.

Manage the setup and qualification of new plating projects for various finishes, including Copper, Nickel, Decorative Chrome, and Electroless Nickel, across substrates such as steel, stainless steel, brass, and aluminum.

Lead efforts to improve the efficiency and yield of current production processes.

Provide hands-on, general troubleshooting at line operations to swiftly resolve technical and mechanical issues impacting production flow.
Technical Expertise & Quality Control

Utilize strong mechanical knowledge to maintain equipment functionality and oversee preventative maintenance schedules.

Ensure strict adherence to all Quality Control (QC) standards and procedures for all plated parts and assembly operations.

Collaborate closely with the Laboratory Technician to monitor and manage plating bath chemistry, providing technical assistance in troubleshooting and maintaining bath integrity.
Leadership & Administration

Provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to the production team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Manage operations through a comprehensive understanding of operations management principles, covering all aspects from raw material handling to final assembly.

Effectively utilize computer systems for data analysis, reporting, inventory management, and scheduling.

Serve as a crucial communication link, requiring professional working proficiency in both English and Spanish (Bilingual) to effectively manage and communicate with all personnel.
Required Qualifications

Proven experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, or Plating Supervisor in a manufacturing or metal finishing environment.

Deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in various plating processes, including Copper, Nickel, Chrome, and Electroless Nickel.

Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing techniques and driving process improvement initiatives.

Exceptional supervisory and team leadership skills.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.

Proficiency with computer software for production planning and reporting.

Typical Hours: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM. (Note: Hours may be subject to change based on production needs.)
