We are seeking a Production Supervisor. The position is located in our City of Industry, CA facility and will work 1st shift hours.

 

The Production Supervisor primary responsibility is to lead and coordinate activities of Associates engaged in the Manufacturing assembly process. He/she trains, instruct, coach and supervise Associates within the established production standards and goals set forth by the company. This individual will assign work, procure supplies and parts and communicate manufacturing and assemble demands to team members, as well as performs safety, quality and maintenance requests and audits. He/she will inspect completed product and sub-assemblies for conformance to specifications, using specified processes, tools, and measuring instruments.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

- Determines production requirements (e.g. output quality and quantity, cost, time, labor requirements) by analyzing charts, work orders, production schedules, etc.

- Responsible for all production matrixes in their core assigned areas.

- Maintains Associate labor tracking (e.g. payroll, time approval/tracking, etc.).

- Initiates and administers 1st level of Associate basic disciplinary/corrective action.

- Determines schedules, sequences and assignments for assembly line activities.

- Confers with other Team Leaders to coordinate operations and activities within or between Stations.

- Gives clear, concise instructions to Associates regarding work specifications, equipment operation, etc.

- Monitors and control materials, products or equipment to detect defects or faults.

- Monitors Associate’s performance by monitoring gauges, dials and other indicators.

- Oversees quality and quantity of production.

- Evaluates current production estimates and outputs.

- Conducts or arranges training in job-related skills for Associates.

- Enforces safety and housekeeping regulations.

- Recommends and implements initiatives such as new techniques and products, purchases of new machinery and changes in staff levels.

- Willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift; would begin on 1st shift operations.

- Coordinates with upper management on work issues.

 

Requirements:

 

- AA /AS degree (Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical) or BA /BS degree (Engineering, Manufacturing, or Technical) is preferred.

- Willingness to work either 1st or 2nd shift; would begin on 1st shift operations.

- 5+ years ability to multi-task and manage non-routine situations

- 3- 5 years’ ability to identify different wire gauges

- 3- 5 years’ experience in reading blueprints and schematics

- 3- 5 years’ experience with various electrical crimpers

- 3- 5 years’ knowledge of electronics, electronic systems, integration and heavy wiring

- Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus

- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience, preferable in automotive.

- 3+ years of project management/team leadership is a plus.

 

Competencies for Success:

 

- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes: mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, fabrication, welding, painting and composites, and support functions.

- Knowledge of work processes, lean six sigma methodologies.

- Knowledge of team development and training methodologies

- Microsoft Office Suite

- Written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to develop others through goals, plans and coaching

 

Physical demands for the position:

 

- Operates computers

- Walks throughout the manufacturing facility

- Climbs in and out of the bus

- Ability to walk, stand, crouch, bend, kneel, lift, carry, reach as needed in large and tight spaces

 

Environmental demands for the position:

 

- Wears appropriate personal protective equipment per designated area.

- Works in heat or cold conditions

- Works with irritant chemical, gases, etc.
