Senior Inventory Specialist — Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $22.95/hour, Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory levels across point-of-use stations and supply rooms; stock, restock, pick supplies, stage orders, and deliver materials to designated areas.
- Audit deliveries against packing slips and put-away reports; process replenishment requests in the materials management inventory system.
- Conduct cycle counts per guidelines; assist with physical inventories for stations and warehouse stock.
- Maintain, exchange, and transport specialty carts (e.g., code carts, surgical carts, respiratory boxes) and ensure accuracy of contents.
- Troubleshoot point-of-use and materials systems; resolve minor system maintenance issues; leverage MMIS and reporting tools to manage par levels and stock-outs.
- Provide subject matter guidance to junior inventory specialists and support training on procedures, systems, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with end-users and stakeholders to ensure timely supply availability and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two years of related inventory experience, preferably in healthcare; at least six months working with a materials management system.
- Detail-oriented; effective written and verbal communication; customer service mindset.
- Capable of learning facility areas and diverse supply categories.
Essential Functions
- Must be able to move, transport, and position inventory, including moderate lifting 15–44 lbs and heavy lifting/carrying 45 lbs or more, as needed.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at times and frequently walk, stand, reach above shoulders, and perform repeated motions to stock and audit supplies.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with team members and end-users; operate office and handheld equipment/scanners; count, read, and write to maintain records accurately.
Work Environment
- Primarily works indoors; may occasionally work outdoors and travel by cart/van within or between facilities.
- Exposure to mechanical hazards, dust/mites, fumes/odors, extreme noise, and temperature swings may occur depending on work area; protective equipment may be required.
- Works closely with others; may experience time constraints, occasional unscheduled overtime, and conflicting demands/priorities during peak periods.
