Growing manufacturer in Newton, KS has exciting opportunity for an experienced machinist to lead their second shift.
Previous experience with CNC laser preferred. 3:30p-12:00am with some weekends. $14-16/hr. DOE
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Summary:
Plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.
Duties include but not limited to:

Ensure that all pieces of equipment are running throughout the shift

Keep all staff on shift on task and busy throughout the shift.

Follow instructions from first shift lead and / or CEO in regards to what production is expected to be produced on the shift.

Enforce lunch and break schedule with staff.

Set laser up to run on automation after the shift ends. Ensure a good quality part will be cut. Once that is established set machine to run overnight.

Ensure quality guidelines are followed both on actual parts and paperwork.

Conduct ongoing daily quality checks on the floor.

Ensure that safety is number one on the floor. This includes housekeeping requirements.

Effectively communicate with shop employees on a daily basis – convey information effectively. This includes communication and tie in with the first shift lead and / or CEO. Report any issues with equipment, material, employees, production run for the evening. Good communication between shifts is critically important.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent
-
Must have good English written and verbal communication skills

Working knowledge of measurement instruments

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Management / Supervisor experience is preferred

Time management – Multi - Tasking
