Position Title: DIRECT HIRE CNC Machinist - 3rd Shift

Wage: $27.22/hour - Offering a $2500.00 sign-on bonus for new Machinist. 1/2 paid after 90 days and the other 1/2 after 6 months!

We have an immediate opportunity for a 3rd Shift Machinist ?to join a diverse team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist operates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose, machines and machining centers to machine steel and brass components.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.  Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. 

• Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelines.  Must be able to operate multiple machines.  

• Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance.

• Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and can anticipate problem areas in advance. 

• Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources. Perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required. Possess appropriate personal tools as required.

• Sets up and Operates conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose machines and machining centers to machine steel and brass components.

• Operates multiple machines.

• Verifies that machine is running at proper cycle time.

• Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines.

• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

• Diagnoses and rectifies normal problems on machines.

• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills: 

• High school diploma/(GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
