Position Title: Plating Lab Technician
Wage: $22.00/hour + 10% shift differential
Hours: 6:00pm – 6:00am (Monday - Thursday)

The Plating Technician supports the Plating & Wastewater pretreatment Systems by monitoring, testing and verifying all systems, performing lab testing as required and maintaining and monitoring all equipment.
The technician troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, basic electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, plumbing and other systems required, and calls for support from the maintenance department as needed.
He directs the maintenance associate as to what repairs are needed and learns from maintenance to improve their skill set.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures the proper operation of all plating chemistries by performing chemical analysis and ensuring all meters, pumps and other systems are running correctly and within specification.
- Ensures the proper operation of the plating & WWT equipment by monitoring and repairing equipment.
- Works with the Supervisor/Manager to provide support troubleshooting the chemical processes.
- Operates the wastewater system on the first shift.
- Working with the plating supervisor/manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements within the chemical processes.
- Helps with chemical inventory and ordering as required.
- Performs tasks in a variety of maintenance & repair areas and may be assigned other duties not listed above.
- Preparedness to answer auditor questions regarding the job processes and the quality policy. Understand the audit objective and how it is performed.
- Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines and report all potential hazards. This includes the ability to read and understand SDS sheets, respond to emergencies, and recognize potential hazards.

Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Experience: MUST HAVE associate degree or plating experience in a fastener industry.
Basic computer skills
ISO/TS 16949 training is preferred
Knowledge of safety and IEPA requirements preferred
Chemical Analysis skills
Basic Maintenance skills
Ability to take seminars and classes to advance skills
