The Irrigation Foreman Coordinates activities of workers engaged in irrigation by performing the following duties and to perform this job successfully, The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required:
Schedules and assigns work
Completes work orders
Transports crews to work locations
Physically performs irrigation repair, installation tasks related encompassing pumping systems, timers, valves solenoids, piping systems and related equipment.
Determine and respond to preventative maintenance needs
Prepares incident reports, accident reports and purchasing requisitions.
Maintain records of crew activities
Ensures the safe and proper operation of tools, vehicles and equipment and adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Inspects completed work for proper operation, adherence to work orders and safety. Responsible for ensuring all work and activities are performed safely and in accordance with policies.
Responsible for the equipment in trucks and the maintenance of truck services.
Maintains and updates the reporting of accurate inventory
Performing several duties like preparing cost estimates and scheduling maintenance.
Provides excellent customer service through your ability to lead by example, being self directed.
Maintains cleanliness of facilities and equipment
Transports crews from work location back to office location
Performs all duties of laborer and other duties as assigned
Directly supervises a crew
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplinary actions and addressing complaints and resolving problems;
Maintaining accurate time cards for payroll reporting.
ABILITIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to deal with problems. Able to fluently speak, write and understand English, Hand dexterity to assemble and install intricate parts. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry 40 pounds for short distances, climbing 20 pounds or less up to 8 ft. Able to climb ladder up to 30 feet. Walking for longer periods of time with or without backpack on.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver's License required.
