2nd and 3rd Shift Production Lead


Direct opportunity

Rate: $65K (overtime eligible, straight time after 45hrs.)

Hours: 2nd Shift, 2pm-11pm or 3pm-12am and 3rd Shift 10:45pm-7:15am, Monday-Friday (We will require training on first shift (6:45am-3:15pm) prior to transitioning to 3rd shift this could take up to 60 days.)

Responsibilities:

- First level of supervisory role on production plant floor. 

- Responsible for the daily operations of production team and individual performance including safety, productivity, and quality. 

- Provides daily instruction to team leaders and plant associates to ensure smooth production of quality products. Conducts shift communication meetings with team at the start of their shift. Oversees all work centers based on shift.

- Controls flow & schedule of work to meet customer volume/schedules. Maintains attendance records by tracking and reviewing and approving time off/hours worked. Monitors working hours and approves overtime; Communicates mandated overtime.

- Prepares end of shift reports for KPIs/other metrics such as OEE, Scrap, Downtime, Attendance, and other requests.  

- Reports major/re-occurring issues to Coordinator or other leaders; assists with root cause analysis and definition of countermeasures.

- Checks quality of product being produced at work centers and quality of raw materials, racks, and operations during and throughout the production process. Takes action to correct, as needed.

- Trains associates and ensures all team members have the necessary skills & abilities to perform in their job; Provides new hire training and follow-up, as needed.

- Promotes a strong safety mindset and enforces safety throughout the plant; provides support to Behavioral Based Safety programs and participates in other safety, environmental and health initiatives. 

- Manages team performance: Evaluates, gives daily feedback to all members including team leaders and workers. Acts on disciplinary and performance issues and concerns, working with HR. Motivates team to ensure high level of productivity and engagement. Counsels’ subordinates to prevent issues, in conjunction with HR.

- Partners with maintenance team on issues/concerns, special circumstances and regular and ongoing maintenance of machines and related processes. Ensures equipment is functional and meeting all safety standards.

- Performs cycle counts, process reviews and inventory counts – working with other cross functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, Materials and Maintenance.

Conducts face to face meetings with outgoing and incoming Group Leaders to pass along relevant information about safety, quality, production, or maintenance concerns. May require overtime. 

- Enforces safety standards, programs, and proper PPE at all times; Trains staff on safety and assists with implementation of company safety programs. Ensures all work areas meet 5S standards.

- Performs other duties, as assigned.


Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED, or the equivalent. Associate degree preferred.  

- 1-3 years working in manufacturing environment.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to understand and relay production and planning information clearly.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and ability to learn company systems quickly.

- Customer-focused approach with the ability to respond professionally to inquiries and work well with cross-functional teams.

- Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail; able to identify issues and support root cause analysis.

- Collaborative and dependable team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to support continuous improvement.
