Peoria, Illinois - OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the area's only Level I Trauma Center, serves as the resource hospital for emergency medical services along with 78 agencies for north central Illinois. OSF Saint Francis has recently added a new 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art emergency department with an additional 55 private treatment rooms added to our current 45 rooms including six critical care rooms and two trauma rooms. The emergency department receives 74,000 visits annually including the busiest aero-medical program (four aircraft with 2,100+ flights annually in Illinois). OSF Saint Francis is also a major teaching affiliate of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP) with a total of ten residents a year in a competitive TL1-2-3 program.
