Summary

 

The Principal Systems Engineer will be responsible for the development of systems, subassemblies and components of the our client’s display systems. The successful candidate will develop the knowledge and models to support the creation of requirements, detailed specifications, and tolerance budgets for all aspects of our client’s display. The systems engineer will maintain specification databases and perform regular flow-down analysis.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Participate in the architecture of next-generation display systems

Develop requirements for subassemblies and components of the system

Develop, maintain and reconcile technical system budgets

Maintain an updated database of systems requirements and performance metrics

Work with business and supplier development teams in negotiation of specifications with vendors

Interface with a multidisciplinary team of engineers in order to define critical requirements and negotiate tolerance budgets

Manage the development of requirements and reference designs to interface with third-party development teams

Work with test engineering teams to develop test methodology for qualifying new designs during verification testing

Consult with design teams on system level trade-offs

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum BS/MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent

Multidisciplinary engineer with a working knowledge of optical, mechanical, electronic and controls systems

Experience in specifying and designing complex systems such as avionics, combat, medical, or instrumentation systems

Experience in the development and tracking of specifications and flow-down

Experience developing system models and tolerance budgets

A self-starter with an ability to quickly assimilate diverse technical information in an extremely fast-paced environment

Proven track record of extraordinary attention to detail, organization, and excellent communication

Track record of adherence to thorough documentation practices

Ability to travel internationally if necessary
