Summary
Provide leadership in a consumer product start-up driving the Product Assurance program. The candidate's primary responsibility will be the development and implementation of methodologies/techniques to enhance product reliability. The candidate will be required to analyze and test engineering design concepts of electro and opto-mechanical consumer electronics products.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deploy Product Assurance Plan for each product
Manage a team of Reliability Engineers and technicians
Analyze preliminary design plans and develop reliability engineering program
Develop and create Optoelectronic and thermo-mechanical test hardware, electronics and software to validate product compliance during the development of a new consumer electronics product and the support technologies
Develop reliability resources for performing reliability tests and qualifications
Evaluate subcontractor proposals for reliability testing, and manage the performance of Reliability and Qualification tests
Analyze preliminary design plans and develop reliability engineering program
Advise design and operations on reliability findings and provide recommendations
Review engineering specifications and drawings, and determine design modifications to improve reliability within design and cost requirements
Maintain Reliability Monitoring Program for both components and final assemblies
Support the failure analysis, and identify failure mechanisms, and the opportunities for reliability improvements
Train and develop skills for FMEA and PFMEA, and provide the necessary leadership in these areas
Provide customer support regarding the reliability qualification of the product
Develop reliability prediction models utilizing reliability statistics, and reliability software applications
Qualifications:
BS, MS or equivalent experience in Engineering or Physics with emphasis in Optics, thermal mechanical, and electronics designs
Thorough understanding of Reliability SW applications like Reliasoft, Windchill (Relex) Quality Solutions and Reliability Prediction/Analysis tools
Experience meeting UL and photometry and radiometric test processes IES LM-79 and LM-80 is strongly desired
Sound understanding of basic physics and engineering principles, balancing theory and practice
Mechanical & thermal engineering design and support experience using 3-D CAD
Working knowledge of PC support, networking, IO drivers, and basic PC tools such as MS Office
Demonstrated “Hands on” hardware, electronics and software capabilities
Advanced programming, Visual Basic, LabView or similar instrumentation and control languages
Photometry and radiometric background used in LED test development and support
Proven ability to organize and problem solve, working independently and across the organization at an advanced level
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Data base creation and analysis using Access, Excel , SQL or JMP
Proven excellence in organization and communication across disciplines
Strong ability to structure and conduct engineering experiments using SDE and statistical analysis
Proven ability to staff and lead projects and organizations
