Position – Coil Handler

Job Location – Milwaukee WI

Employment Term – Temp-to-Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – 2nd shift (3:15pm-12:45pm)

Starting Pay – Depends on Experience, $18.50-$21.00

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience

 

As a Coil Handler you will be responsible for the safe set up, operation of various sizes and tonnages of coil-fed punch presses. Operations may be run in an automatic coil fed or hand transfer operating modes.

 

Responsibilities

• Operate coil-fed punch presses of various sizes and tonnages in which a progressive or compound die is used to produce a metal part.

• Assist in setting and adjusting die, knock-out, ejecting and safety devices, roll, or feeds.

• Work from blueprints or customer specifications as required.

• Assist with set up or in removing dies after production run is complete.

• Check work visually or by using template, sample or fixed gauges.

• Perform inspection of parts for defects and complete quality check sheets for the specific part.

• Assist with lifting, stacking, and packing parts as needed.

• Basic ability to load coil / material onto decoiler and or press utilizing overhead crane.

• Handle minor rework as needed.

• Be alert to any malfunction of press or problem with die so production can be stopped prior to incurring substantial damage to the press or die. 

 

Qualifications-

• Must be able to understand simple blueprints and/or specifications.

• Must have mechanical aptitude and ability.

• Six to twelve months of production machine operation experience.

• Some QC and inspection experience using basic inspection tools
