Maintenance Mechanic– Night Shift

Position – Maintenance Mechanic

Job Location – Eau Claire, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Direct Hire

Employment Type – Full-Time

Work Hours (Shift) – Night Shift (Mon-Thu 5:45am-5:45pm)

Starting Pay – $25-$27/hour (depending om experience)

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED preferred

Required Experience – 18 -36 months of experience in industrial setting performing Maintenance

 

Industrial Maintenance Mechanics are essential to our operations. In this role, you’ll ensure the smooth functioning of facility equipment by performing tasks such as servicing conveyors, replacing motor boxes and bearings, and diagnosing mechanical problems. This includes tasks such as welding, lubricating, and adjusting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems while adhering to safety protocols and company policies. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate equipment and interpret schematics to support efficient operations.

 

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage the maintenance function to support and sustain plant productivity

  • Monitor and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies

  • Maintain and service all facility equipment to ensure optimal operation

  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on:

  • Downstream sorting lines, conveyors, and machinery

  • Industrial equipment including mobile equipment, forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, trucks, and trailers

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery and various plant systems, such as eddy current separators, system conveyors, and trommels

  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, including PLCs, valves, cylinders, bearings, and electric motors

  • Communicate with key operations personnel (e.g., forklift, loader, separator operators) to ensure equipment is running properly and schedule maintenance accordingly

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and generate daily reports

  • Assign, review, and inspect the work performed by maintenance staff; provide on-the-job training and resolve routine work issues

  • Support other tasks such as ordering parts, welding, fabricating, and performing minor electrical repairs

  • Perform additional duties or special projects as needed

 

 

Qualifications 

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating ratios, rates, and percentages

  • Previous experience with yard vehicles, forklifts, loaders, and material separators is a strong advantage

  • Must be capable of lifting 30 to 50 pounds regularly

  • Skilled in mechanical maintenance tasks such as working on conveyors, replacing motor boxes and bearings, and troubleshooting equipment issues

  • 18 to 36 months of hands-on maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
