Are you a skilled machine operator with a passion for precision and a knack for working with wood? We're looking for dedicated Machine Operators to join our growing team right here in Appleton, WI!


Position – Machine Operator

Job Location – Appleton, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) –  2nd shift

Starting Pay – $18 to $21

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience as a machine operator


As a Machine Operator in our wood manufacturing facility, you'll be at the heart of our production process, ensuring efficiency and quality from start to finish


Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Setting up, operating, and monitoring a variety of woodworking machinery, which may include:
    • Saws (panel saws, rip saws, miter saws)
    • Routers (CNC routers, pin routers)
    • Planers and jointers
    • Edge banders
    • Sanders (wide belt sanders, orbital sanders)
    • Boring machines, etc.
  • Material Handling: Accurately loading and unloading wood materials onto machines, ensuring proper positioning and secure clamping.
  • Precision & Quality: Making precise adjustments to machine settings (e.g., feed rates, cutting depths, dimensions) to achieve exact specifications and tolerances.



Qualifications 

  • Experience: Proven experience (e.g., 1-3 years) operating industrial machinery, specifically within a wood manufacturing or similar production environment.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: A strong understanding of machine mechanics and the ability to perform basic adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Blueprint & Spec Savvy: Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and production specifications.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, precise work.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of standing for extended periods, lifting and moving wood materials up to [e.g., 50 lbs] regularly, and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Math Skills: Basic mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and material optimization.
  • Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable: Punctual, dependable, and possesses a strong work ethic.
